A very popular honeymoon spot on the east coast is the Pocono Mountains. Located in beautiful Poconos Pennsylvania, the scenario is right out of picture books. No matter what the season, you will be awestruck by the sheer splendor. I should know, I spent my honeymoon and every anniversary for the last 20 years there. We had a fall wedding and the colors are spectacular. I know it is corny, but we had one of those small cabins in the woods that have a heart shaped bed. They still have those and we always get one.
This year we are going to go a second time and stay at a Poconos Family Resort with the kids. I think it will be fun to take them and show them where we go every year. We will go in the middle of summer though and enjoy some time at the lake swimming. They are old enough now to enjoy it all. While we were there last fall we checked into things to do with the kids. It will be a new experience for them as we normally take them to the beach for a few days and then to grandma’s farm for a few days.
I think unless you live in the area, people have forgotten about the Poconos for the most part. I don’t know why. I think it is a great place for a vacation any time of the year. Wasn’t the movie Dirty Dancing shot there? Either way, I think it will be a lot of fun this summer, we will spend the whole week there.
